Q&A With Women in Film and TV
Last week, we were lucky enough to host a fantastic Q&A evening with the brilliant ‘Women in Film and TV’ organisation and His Dark Materials’ very own Supervising Art Director, Robyn Paiba.
Held at our onsite classroom, and generously catered for by Voco at St.Davids Hotel, the evening was filled with excitement and delight as our guests were given the opportunity to quiz Robyn about her career highs and lows and the fantastic team she works alongside. Discussing her personal experience of working as a high-profile woman in a predominantly male industry, Robyn discussed the challenges she’s faced and the heights she’s reached whilst working her way up the ladder of success.
Following on from the Q&A session, our guests were treated to a behind the scenes tour of the studios and were allowed to get up close and personal with the phenomenal sets currently occupying the space here at Wolf Studios Wales.
Our industry professional, Robyn, was on hand to explain the ideas behind the design and build of each set and answer any further questions from our guests, of which there were many. Six studios later and our excited guests were back in the classroom, chatting with new acquaintances and finishing the last of the canapes before picking up a goody bag, courtesy of St.Davids Hotel, and making their way home.
We would like to say a massive thank you to the Women in Film and TV organisation and also to Robyn, who has constantly championed and supported Screen Alliance Wales and the opportunities that we provide for trainees and work shadowing placements, we can’t tell you how much it’s appreciated. A huge thank you also to St.Davids hotel for their kind generosity and delicious food and drink throughout the evening!
We can’t wait for the next event!
