Clwstwr publishes its report on the Creative Industries in Wales

Did you know that there are 80,000 people working in the creative industries in Wales (as employees and freelancers)? Or that 500 new enterprises enter the creative industries in Wales every year, making it one of the fastest growing sectors in the country?

Clwstwr, a five-year project that aims to put innovation at the core of media production in South Wales, has now issued a report on the current state of the creative industries in the country. It highlights how there are now 8,000 enterprises established in Wales, and 98% are small, employing less than 50 people.

This information is vital for us here at SAW. It illustrates the importance of educating the future workforce that there are significant number of viable opportunities for a career in the creative industries in Wales. We will also help ensure there is an ongoing supply of talent that will support all of these companies, big and small, to sustain and grow in the future.
