Recognising the potential of the film and television industry in Wales

  • Allison Dowzell

    Managing Director

    Allison began her career with the BBC’s London-based Outside Broadcast Department, working across sport, drama, and light entertainment. She went on to join the Samuelson Group at Pinewood Studios, facilitating major feature films and collaborating with leading filmmakers. After relocating to Wales, she founded the SE office of Wales Screen, promoting the nation as a prime destination for film and TV production.

    As Managing Director of Screen Alliance Wales, Allison has led the organisation in delivering training, education, and career opportunities to over 70,000 people across Wales, helping to build a more inclusive and skilled workforce for the screen industry. She was recently awarded an OBE for her services to the broadcast sector and is currently Chair of RTS Cymru.

  • Sarah O'Keefe

    Education and Training Executive

    Sarah joined Screen Alliance Wales in 2018 as the English Language Education and Training Manager having for the past ten years been teaching English to a wide variety of secondary students. In particular, Sarah has been tutoring pupils, who for one reason or another had been unable to engage with the school system. Sarah started her career as a scenic painter studying at the Royal College of Music and Drama so brings the perfect partnership of knowledge of the education system and the creative industries. In 2025, Sarah was promoted to Education and Training Executive.

  • Rhys Bebb

    Welsh Language Education and Training Manager

    Rhys joined Screen Alliance Wales in 2020 as the Education and Training Manager from Into Film Cymru. Prior to that, he worked as an Education and Media Officer for Keep Wales Tidy, whom he joined after leaving the classroom.

  • Amani Khan

    Admin & Digital Content Assistant

    Amani joined the Screen Alliance Wales team in 2023 after working as Receptionist and Studio Administrator at Wolf Studios Wales. She now leads our Social Media and Digital Content, ensuring our platforms remain dynamic, engaging, and up to date.

  • Nia Thomas

    Board Member

    Managing Director of Boom Cymru TV Ltd, one of Wales’s largest, indigenous production groups. The Boom group of companies is part of ITV Studios, and operates in a variety of sectors, including production (Boom and Oxford Scientific Films), facilities (Gorilla), and visual effects (Bait Studio). Nia is responsible for overseeing Boom group’s multidisciplinary operations and her production experience spans a variety of genres, including children’s, entertainment, factual, music and events. She is a Board member of TAC and TRC and sits on the Steering Board of Cardiff’s Clwstwr Creadigol and Factual Fast Track Wales.

  • John Giwa- Amu

    Board Member

    Renowned producer best known for sci-fi thriller, The Machine, Little White Lies, Don’t Knock Twice, The Call Up and The Party. He runs a production, distribution and financing company Red & Black Films. John’s company, Red and Black Films, continues to develop and finance a high-concept slate mainly weighted towards elevated genre. John sits on the Pact Film Policy Group, works with BBC Wales to mentor new directors and producers, and guest lectures at The National Film and Television School and The University of South Wales.

  • Bethan Roberts

    Wales Screen Academy Manager- South Wales

    After working across various areas of the creative industries, Bethan joined the Wales Screen Academy team in 2023 as their South Wales Manager. Representing the University of South Wales and working alongside Screen Alliance Wales, Bethan aims to highlight the creative courses in South Wales and raise awareness of career pathways, equipping future generations with the skills, knowledge, and training necessary for a career in the Film and TV industry

  • Carol Jones

    Wales Screen Academy Manager- North Wales

    With over 30 years’ experience in the television industry, Carol began her career as a runner and researcher on factual programmes before specialising in drama as a seasoned production manager.
    Carol is now the Wales Screen Academy Manager in North Wales working closely with Screen Alliance Wales, Bangor University, University of South Wales and Aria Film Studios.
