Supporter Feature - Movietech

Our work at Screen Alliance Wales can only be achieved thanks to the continued support of the industry itself. This month, we would like to shine a light on another one of our sponsors, Movietech.

Movietech have been a great supporter of Screen Alliance Wales since 2018.  They not only sponsor us to help us continue our work promoting and helping grow the Film and TV industry across Wales, but they have also actually delivered camera workshops for us to a large number of Welsh school children.

Movietech are “independent suppliers of Camera, Lens and Grip Equipment for the film, television and commercials industry.” They are based at Pinewood Studios Buckinghamshire, and also in Great Point Seren Stiwdios in Wales. They have over 20 years of experience in the industry and so are well-equipped to provide productions of all sizes with the kit they need.

At the moment, the Camera department are extremely busy working with productions such as, “The Long Call” in Bristol and “We Hunt Together” Season 2. They have also provided equipment for a huge number of productions across the UK, including Bad Wolf’s “I Hate Suzie”, “Industry”, “A Discovery of Witches” and all three seasons of “His Dark Materials”.

The large number of projects Movietech are involved in has helped them to continue to expand their Full Frame Camera and Lens inventory and they also now have a Grip Department at Movietech Cymru. Andy Clarke now heads up their Grips Department and they have had to expand and take on more space within Great Point- Seren Stiwdios Wales in order to accommodate this.

Movietech are also helping to supply kit to a number of projects with BBC Ffolio for Ffilm Cymru, which is a training scheme to find emerging talent.

We look forward to continuing working with Movietech and seeing all their hard work in action on the silver screen.
